The important part is that this is activated charcoal, which is the kind that gets used in water filters and odor removers an the like. The manufacturer describes the bristles’ properties thusly: “Binchotan charcoal is blended into each bristle of this toothbrush which helps give off negative ions, helpful for deodorizing and removing plaque, preventing bad breath, and harmful bacteria from growing within the brush.”

The Amazon page is also full of BS reviews like this gem: “Just what my grandson ordered for Christmas, thanks!” Absolutely nobody’s grandson got excited about a toothbrush for Christmas. This kid probably also wanted Brussels sprouts, a copy of Quicken Rental Property Manager 2015, and some homework.

Basically, a dude with a video game controller tells the LaWS what it’s aiming for, and the laser tracks the target and then burns the ever-living crap out of it. For the purposes of the video and making the shooting of a laser cannon at least somewhat dramatic, the Navy made sure that both of the boats had an explosive element to attack. The drone, on the other hand, just drops unceremoniously from the sky after the LaWS lines up. The part that’s good for the average tax-payer: it costs less than a dollar per shot to operate the LaWS.

These wooden nesting dolls include Finn as the largest, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, The Ice King, and BMO. I think Jake should have been the largest of the nesting dolls. After all, he can make himself as gigantic as he wants.

The stem of the glass looks like metal, but it is actually resin. I know from experience that resin will break like ceramic if you drop it, so if you partake be careful with the glass. The bottom section of the glass is tinted an amber color that fades to clear near the top, which makes it perfect for serving water and trying to convince people that it’s whiskey.

Speaking with The Daily Dot, Stephen said he originally wanted to present the ship and propose with a romantic dinner. But he didn’t want to risk damaging the ship until then, so he just popped the question at a parking lot. So why the Star Destroyer? Stephen explains, “I told her [Amanda] our love was like this ship and the people inside it. Its shields deflect and defend from any outside force wanting to get in and destroy us. Then I opened the star ship and there stood Darth Vader holding the engagement ring.”

As for Stephen’s ringbearer of choice, he said that Darth Vader’s love for Luke is a great example of sticking to your loved one’s side no matter what. Stephen, I hope this doesn’t mean you’ll abandon Amanda for decades, then cut off her hand before revealing that you’re her husband.

The front of the journal is all Wookiee fur, with Chewbacca’s bandolier across the cover. Inside, all of the ruled pages feature Millennium Falcon watermarks. The shape of the dress is based on a body scan, so the fit is perfect. The method of construction is also rather interesting; the printer creates the garment so that it’s folded up into itself, allowing the company to use a printer with an print area much smaller than the final product.

The first of these Kinematics dresses has been purchased by New York’s Museum of Modern Art, but users can now create their own designs and contact the company for ordering information here. There are a lot of holes in the existing designs though, so you have better either be very outgoing or plan to wear something under your garment.

Aura’s LEDs will last up to 20 years. They come in white or multicolored, while their ball case comes in clear, frosted or crackled. The LED’s Wi-Fi-enabled variant can be toggled, scheduled or set to a timer via a mobile app.

Pledge at least $65 (USD) on Kickstarter to receive a 12-pack Aura set as a reward. I hope its inventors can come up with strips of power transmitters so we can be rid of Christmas lights for good.

The maps are very detailed, and blocky, replicas of levels from Ratchet & Clank, Infamous, Uncharted, and God of War. All of these maps were made by teams of builders for a recent contest and they are each so cool.

Smart Kapp can screencast to mobile devices and desktop computers. Both the presenter and the viewers can take screenshots of the screen at any time. Viewers can share screenshots with just a couple of clicks or taps, while the presenter will need a USB storage device to download screenshots saved on the board.

It would be nice if the board could open and screencast documents and media as well, especially when you consider how much it costs. You can pre-order Smart Kapp from Amazon for $899 (USD).

This compact console features a retro Nintendo design and at this size it is just cute as a button. Of course, since it’s a complete computer, it can run multiple emulators, but it’s ideal for NES or SNES games. After all, it might seem sacrilege to play Sonic the Hedgehog on this thing.

Last November, Urban Invention installed a working prototype of ActiWait in Hildesheim, Germany. The company is currently raising funds on Indiegogo to further develop ActiWait. The company thinks of adding other distractions for pedestrians, such as news feeds, a navigation helper, traffic rules for children, surveys and even a speed dating service. Here’s the prototype in action:
