Beijing - A young woman intern on Sunday fell to her death from a dormitory at a Foxconn plant in China, state media reported, the latest in a string of fatalities involving the technology giant's workers.
The woman slipped and fell from the sixth floor while trying to hang her laundry outside a window at the complex in the central city of Zhengzhou, Xinhua news agency said, quoting local authorities.
Foxconn, which is the largest maker of computer components and assembles products for Apple, including the iPhone, Sony and Nokia, has come under the spotlight after suicides and labour unrest at its massive Chinese plants.
A 21-year-old employee of the Taiwanese firm jumped to his death in July in the southern city of Shenzhen.
At least 13 employees died in apparent suicides last year which activists blamed on tough working conditions and led to calls for better treatment of staff.
Foxconn employs about one million workers in China, about half of them based in its main facility in Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong.
